Concert: Wednesday, 20.01.2027, 7:30 pm

Sophie Pacini, piano

Solo recital “Explosion of the Senses” with works by Debussy, Tchaikovsky, Liszt, Szymanowski, Scriabin, Schumann, and others.

The mazurka, which originated in the 16th century, was originally a Polish folk dance in triple time, characterized by rhythmic freedom, shifts in accent, and an elegant yet earthy expressiveness. Composers from various eras repeatedly revisited the mazurka, transforming it into miniature compositions that blended tradition and individual imagination.
