The following works span the spectrum from the artful variations of the early Dutch Baroque to the dazzling sonic imagination of the present day, bringing to life the way in which musical storytelling has continually reinvented itself over four centuries. Between Haydn’s cheerful clarity, Brahms’s introspective intermezzos and the expressive musical language of Berg and Benjamin, an evening unfolds that brings tradition and innovation into close proximity.

Ariel Lanyi piano
Pianist Ariel Lanyi studied at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance with Lea Agmon and Yuval Cohen before continuing his training at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Hamish Milne and Ian Fountain. Over many years he also regularly played for Alfred Brendel, until shortly before the elder pianist's death in 2025 – a formative artistic mentorship. In 2021 he won 3rd Prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition, performing Brahms's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra under Andrew Manze in the final. In 2023 he was awarded the Prix Serdang – a CHF 50,000 prize recognizing outstanding young pianists – by a jury chaired by Rudolf Buchbinder.
Ariel Lanyi performs regularly with leading orchestras including the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, and is a sought-after chamber musician who has collaborated with artists such as Maria João Pires, Marina Piccinini, and Torleif Thedéen
His recording Organ Reflections, featuring piano music inspired by the organ by Mozart, Franck, and Reger, was released in 2025 to critical acclaim, including a glowing review in BBC Music Magazine. Ariel Lanyi has long been based in London.
